Gretchen Bender horse training is all about the communication, enjoyment and success between horse and rider. It’s all about having fun!!! When you and your horse are communicating well and enjoying yourselves, success will always follow. We have our horses to enjoy them, so why not learn to have a balanced soft ride, which results in a horse who is happy to do his job!
I follow the training pyramid, allowing the horse to develop correct muscling and balance in proper training. Dressage is the basis of every discipline. And should your riding goals include showing, riders will be accompanied to horse trials, dressage and hunter/jumper shows.
All levels of riders are accepted, from kids that have never ridden to the more advanced riders who are interested in furthering their skills. I teach riders how to ride and train their horse, so they are the driver, not the passenger, and can carry their skills on with them.
I have competed to the Intermediate level of eventing and third level dressage. I competed professionally for private owners in California, specializing in Thoroughbreds and Warmbloods in Dressage and Eventing. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to train with some of the best in the world in California.
